The Mountain View Model Railroad Club hosts and/or participates in periodic events open to the public at the Didsbury Museum and other locations as may best promote the clubs activities. Mountain View Model Railroad Club actively supports the initiatives of the Didsbury and District Historical Society and all their activities at the Didsbury Museum. Stop by the museum and chat with some of our members about the railroad history of Didsbury and why they chose model railroading as a hobby. The Mountain View Model Railroad Club has worked extremely hard to develope an outdoor garden railroad on the east side of the museum. We were proud to be able to offer this new feature to visitors during Alberta Culture Days Celebrations in September 2020. There is always maintenance work to be done and weather permitting the trains will run most weekends during July and August. Our garden railroad is able to operate in the cold and snow and we are (stormy weather permitting) planning to present a Christmas Train event before the museum closes late December for Christmas and New Years.
